A carved and pierced wooden frame decorated with dragons ,vases' and a single bat .All of which are important Chinese design elements, used to convey a sense of homely wellbeing .
Previously lacquered and gilded.
18thC or earlier .
Measures 260 x 140 cm
The frame has been mounted in a hardwood surround and strengthened to allow for a mirror plate to be slid behind the carving.
