One of a pair of early 20thC Mongolian lift top trunks.The fronts are decorated with a pair of Mongoose , spitting precious jewels on to a flaming offering plate .To the sides a half drawn pair of curtains .The second trunk is in a more distressed state . Symbolicly in Mongolian culture ,the Mongoose skin is a vessle for the storage of precious things , and in this case the precious things are the jewels of Buddhism, being served up on to a treasure vase .59 x 36 x 37 cm each
