Konya in South Anatolia was the capital of the Seljuk empire, and one of the oldest urban centres on earth.Legend has it that Konya was the first city to rise from the waters of the great flood.It has been a centre for quality weaving for many centuries.This kilim , woven in two halves, with a well drawn and complex design where two central medallions blend in to the chequer board design surrounding them.
