A very unusual pair of Elm cabinets dating from the 1st 1/4 of the 20thC.
Several years ago i bought a larger pair of cabinets in this form, i was told that they were from Fujian province in Southern China . They didn't hang about , and were delivered to Idaho USA.

A different supplier produced these cabinets for me in March of this year , he was insistant that they were from TaiYuan . the capital of Shanxi province .
Perhaps they were both right , but i would suggest that both pairs were from the same workshop, and most likley from TaiYuan. I suspect that Elm would not be prolific in the south of China
Although of no great age , they are very stylish and in limited supply.
