A four door painted Tibetan Torgam ( Tantric cabinet )
The four painted doors wildly decorated with offerings to Mahakala, a wrathful diety and protector of the Buddha's teaching's.
Tantric cabinets are rare , only to be found in the private shrine rooms of the ruling classes , and in the segregated quaters of the highest of Lamas .
The decoration appears grim and repulsive , but that is to misinterpret it.
Amongst other things it conveys the rejuvenation of life through rebirth.
