A Konya kilim with an overall Elibelinde hands on hips design .Said by some to represent a woman giving birth , said by others to be a symbol of fertility , Others including eminent carpet dealer Eberhardt Herrmann suggested in HALI magazine No 68, page 87, that elibelinde is not Turkish for "hands on hips", but Kurdish for "great god" or "great bird".Turning the design from Turkish woman , to Kurdish man .Mid 20thc wool on wool Size. 262 x 172 cm
